Author Notes

  • I realize the timeline of this fic predates the term “yeet” by about 3-5 years, but I don’t care. Go with me on it. Pretend “yeet” came into being about a decade earlier.
  • The eclipse referenced here was only a partial eclipse and barely was seen in California, but we’ll pretend otherwise, right? Right.
  • This story is about Peter, but it’s told from the POV of an OC. I’m giving a heads up in advance in case that’s really not your jam, because I don’t want to hear about how much people hate OC stories.
  • I think most people get that there’s a difference between author views and character views, but just in case… Just because a character does or says something, it doesn’t mean that I, personally, would approve of such behavior. I sometimes write characters acting in morally questionable ways, and it’s not intended to be tacit approval of that sort of thing or a reflection of my personal hobby time. Weirdly, people won’t question my personal values when I have a character commit murder, but they will think I’m personally misguided when I have the same character swear in front of a child. Go fucking figure.

  1. Lol normally don’t read author notes, but then you wrote it so I just can’t not read them.
I love the notes. It’s a great set up and running to start the story…. Now!

  2. I love this! It’s a fantastic story, with a great resolution to the Hale fire, lovely OCs, and scope for future stories if you feel inspired.😄

It’s a bit late, I know, but happy new year, and many thanks for sharing this story.

    • Thank you! Considering how the year has gone already, we’ll just use the lunar new year and say that 2021 starts on Feb 12th. So by that measure, you’re nearly two weeks early! So, happy year of the ox!

  3. Only one thing… gracias!

  4. That was awesome. I loved the 3rd party point of view and Dot was amazing. Her love for Peter was beautiful.

  5. I absolutely love your voice. In all you do I become invested in the tale beyond reason. Teen Wolf and NCIS are two of my favorite fandoms. You are just a brilliant writer.

  6. Absolutely perfect! Thank you for sharing!

  7. Oh, Jilly, another masterpiece of adulting adults. I loved Dot, and it was great to visit with Booker again. Loved how the story intersected with Stiles and his dad, and that Derek and Cora have a good pack again. Great stuff, as usual!

  8. This was just so amazing (as usual)! Adults adulting has become my favorite trope, and you do it masterfully. I loved your mix of familiar faces along with some new characters. Dot was fabulous… I want to be just like her when I grow up. And her romance with Booker was such a lovely surprise. And the whole thing with Peter… oh, to have people who are so loyal to you that they’ll move heaven and earth to make things right for you. Thanks, as always, for sharing with us. I always get a little giddy when I see a post from your site, and this was no exception. Bravo!

  9. This is absolutely wonderful! Thank you, WW.

no matter where you go, there you are...
