2020 Update: I’ve simplified the tabs to put all mine under one. I do not have any control over the links provided to me by others. Authors may move or delete their stories. If authors don’t update me with their links, there’s nothing I can do.

What is Evil Author Day?

This started some time back in 2010/2011 timeframe, but I’m not sure if it was on Live Journal or Dreamwidth first. And if I knew who started the insanity, I’d happily share their contact info… so you could send them love. Keira Marcos has made it a rather not-to-be-missed annual event that I really look forward to.

The original concept was to post the titles or descriptions of your in-process stuff and let people vote on what they’d like to see. I think many people have taken their own spin on how they choose what to post. Frankly, I’m total crap about taking input on what I should do, so I’m just gonna pick some stuff and go with it.

What’s the downside, and why is it evil? Well, there are no promises attached to this. I may never get back to it. There may never be more than what you see here. Or I may finish it next week. It’s read at your own risk. Seriously. I certainly welcome your feedback, but I promise that poking me continually about something doesn’t work. It may even be counterproductive.

Atlantis Codex: Episode 1, Discovery – Stargate: Atlantis, Ancient!Sheppards AU. This is the start of the story I worked on with Keira on the radio show. There was a plot drift and an episode drift. This first episode is done, so I could have put it on my site, but it’s part of a 2-episode arc, and it won’t be moved here permanently until the second episode is done.

    My husband has been given his birthday presies (!) so I am now able to read some EAD and started with Intuitive. Unsurprisingly, I am totally hooked. I found it really absorbing even in these intial extracts which necessarily involve a lot of “set up”, which I think you have done very well. I definitely look forward to the completed work later in the year. Thank you!

    I just finished reading all of the “Evil Author Day” contributions on the list. WOW!! As a reader, not a writer, I want to express my appreciation to all of you for all the fantastic “beginnings” that were presented. New or unusual pairings, great characterizations, amazing and unique plots – I am so excited and so looking forward to future chapters on any of the stories.
    This has to be the absolute best EAD event ever!!! THANK YOU ALL for putting this together.

    I know I’m a late poster but just found this although I’ve been reading you for about six months over and over. I love everything especially Emergence and anything NCIS, Criminal Minds and SGA specific. No matter what it is it’s great.

    Hi Intuitive seems very intresting, but I cannot find it at Extreme Big Bang. Was it maybe renamned or is it on another site or do I just miss it?

      The links still work from my EAD page, so I’m not sure why your’e not able to open them.

      Although, if you’re asking where the final story is, it’s not done yet, which is why it’s still on my EAD page and not listed as a completed work.

    Just to be absolutely clear, I’ve read your posts re AO3, and fully support your decision to pull back. That said, in the interest of clarity, has the EAD Lj hosting Emergence – Contact been shut down or locked, even to members of the community?

    If so, I’ll stop worrying about technical issues on my end due to a long-abandoned LJ, and just wait for future updates. 🙂

    I’m a fairly new reader that found you through AO3 bookmarks, who is now reading and re-reading everything I can find here. As an author myself I absolutely get where you are coming from, and look forward to seeing the next stories, episodes and chapters in all of your fandoms if and when you are ready to share them with us.

    I’ll keep trying to read your Intuitive story but I can’t seem to get any of the chapter links to work. Have the links broken or is there a problem on my end?
    Love your other NCIS stories especially Vicious. Are there any continuing stories of this or was that it?

      You have to be a member of the EAD community on Dreamwidth, which is mentioned on my EAD page. The links all work.

      There’s no more in the Vicious story right now, though I will be continuing it.

    I love how even if you haven’t posted anything for evil author day, you’re still completely involved in it for me this year because looking around to see if you had posted led me to reread everything you’d *ever* posted in that category. And it was all brilliant, so, y’know, how evil. 😀

    (I’m not nudging by the way – I just thought it was funny that I ended up reading mainly your stuff all yesterday and now today as well. Any excuse is a good excuse! ^_^)

    Is there any way that you can tell me how to find the EAD page on dreamwidth? I’m looking for the sequel you said in another comment that you’d started on that site. I’ve created an account but I’ll be honest and say the site is a bit confusing to use. Im sorry to bother you, I just really want to read the sequel — regardless of whether you’ll be finishing it or not. I loved emergence so much that I’ve read it so many times and it just never gets old. You’re a brilliant writer!
